Chapter 5

Chapter 5 (Kiara)

OH. MY. GOD!

What. On. Earth. Was. That.

“Mia Marilyn Marshall! You are in a great trouble, young lady.” I glared at Mia who was just smiling like she just won a jackpot.

“Oh God Kiara! Why are you scaring off our cute little angel.” I saw Kaiden and Sienna coming towards us.

“Do you even know what your cute little angel did! She just set me up with Jaxon Freaking Klein out of nowhere. She isn’t an angel, she is Shaitan ki Nani Amma (Satan’s Grandmother).” I huffed while trying calm down my racing heart which has been beating rapidly since the moment my eyes met those black orbs of Jaxon Klein.

“Really Mia? You set her up. That too with Jaxon Klein. You are a genius.” Sienna squealed like a kid who just got it’s favorite chocolate.

“Well done, Mia!” Kaiden high-fived her and Mia smiled brightly.

“You all are crazy.” I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath. Mia told them how Jaxon has agreed to go on a date with me. But all I could think of is what is he gonna say to me? Why did he even agreed to Mia’s silly wish? Does he really agrees to all of his fans weird wishes? Ewww, I don’t even wanna think about it.

After a while, Kaiden and Sienna left and I headed to the backstage room of Jaxon Klein along with Mia.

“Ms. Marshall?” I looked at a tall guy who I presumed is Jaxon Klein’s bodyguard.

“Yes?” I replied back assuming that he just asked that whether I am Ms. Marshall or not.

“Hello, Ms. Marshall, I am Taylor, Mr. Klein’s bodyguard. Nice to meet you.” He bowed to me as if I am some sort of Queen. Umm, okay?

“Mr. Klein wants to meet you. Alone.” He continued and then looked at Mia.

I looked at Mia who had the most innocent smile on her face as if she hasn’t done anything at all.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Klein has informed me to take care of Mia while you both are talking. You can trust me, Ma’am.” He assured me and I don’t know what happened to me but I actually believed him. I ruffled Mia’s hair and told her to behave.

“Let’s go little one.” Taylor took Mia to the VIP lounge where she can actually eat or drink anything she wants, all thanks to Mr. Klein.

“Okay, Kiara. Here goes nothing.” I knocked at the door and heard his muffled voice. I entered and saw him drying up his hair with a towel. How did he just took a shower in such a short time? I gulped as I saw him, his wet long shoulder-length hair were making him look so ethereal. I always had a thing for long haired men, they always looked iconic to me.

“Earth to Ms. Marshall.” I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard his voice.

“I am sorry. You were saying something.” I cleared my throat. What the hell was I doing?

“Please have a seat.” He smiled. Or was it a smirk? It was definitely a smirk, he just saw me gawking at him. Geez, what’s wrong with you Kiara?

I sat down on a couch and looked around. It was a lavish room, his clothes, make-up, accessories and guitar, everything was scattered in the room. He sat down on a portable chair in front of me.

“I am sorry, Mr. Klein for what my niece did back there.” I looked into his eyes. I should be looking down in embarrassment but somehow, I can’t move my eyes away from him.

“I don’t know what was going on in her shaitani dimag (devilish brain).” I mumbled.

“You don’t actually have to go on a date with me. I will explain it to Mia. She will understand. Trust me, she meant no harm. Actually, I am her guardian and after her parents death I am the who has been raising her. Due to my work and responsibilities, I don’t want to date anyone and since she hasn’t seen me with anyone over the years, she was just looking out for me. I really had no idea that she would have asked you such a thing. Believe me, she is a well-behaved kid.” I immediately blurted out everything while he just looked at me with a look which I couldn’t understand.

“Relax, Ms. Marshall. I didn’t mind Mia’s innocent request to see her Kiki happy.” He smiled before continuing.  “Mia is a really lucky girl to have you as her Auntie. You have raised her really well.”

“Thank you, Mr. Klein.” I smiled.

“Please call me Jax, Ms. Marshall. This rule applies to you as well.” He chuckled.

“Well then same applies to you. Call me Kiara. Let’s just drop the formalities.” I don’t know what’s happening and why am I being so comfortable with him.

“Sure. Kiara.” He said in a husky voice which was more than enough to make those dead butterflies in my stomach alive again. I wonder what my name sound like will when he would—

I cleared my throat, in attempt to clear my dirty thoughts. Guess, I shouldn’t be reading too many smuts. Don’t start judging me now, I am just a girl in the world. Shut up, Kiara.

“So, why did you agreed to go on a date with me? If you don’t wanna go, then it’s totally fine, I will explain it to Mia—”

“Do you always assume other people’s thought, Goddess?” He looked at me amused.

“No, it’s not like that.” I nibbled on my lower lip thinking of a good reason to tell him.

“I am just teasing you, sweetheart. No need to worry about it.” He chuckled while I zoned out at his one word. Sweetheart. I have heard this word from many people and I always hated this word. But hearing it from him, it’s just different. I loved it. Snap. Out. Of. It.

“So, I agreed to go on a date with you because I wanted to. Actually, I am in America for two weeks and I have to keep travelling from state to state for the recording of my next song and some concerts. My schedule is packed, and I only have one day for myself. I wanted that day to end at a really good note so I agreed to go on a dinner date with you.” He explained.

“So, you agreed to Mia’s wish because of your own selfish reasons.” I decided to tease him a little.

“No, it’s not like that. I— um—”

“Relax! I am just teasing. Two can play this game, Jaxon.” I winked and he chuckled.

“You scared me for a while. I have to be careful around you, Kiara.” He smirked and I could feel heat rising to my cheeks. The way he says my name is making me feel things which I thought I am never gonna feel.

“It’s totally fine, Jax. I understand. I mean I am also really busy with my work and Mia so night is the only time I get free.” I assured him.

“So, is that a yes?” There is hope sparkling in his dark eyes. Does he really wants to go on a date with me? A normal girl?

“Yes for what? You didn’t even asked me the question.” I tried my best to hide my smile.

“You are really something, Kiara.” He shook his head before getting up from the portable chair and coming towards me. He kneeled down in front of me and held my hand lightly, sending shivers down my spine “Ms. Kiara Marshall, would you do me the honor of saying yes for going on a date with me?”

“Wow, Jax, you didn’t even give me much of a choice.” I pretended to think and saw him getting impatient from the corner of my eyes. “Yes, I would love to go on a date with you, Mr. Jaxon Klein.” Seems like he is back to formality game, well I am a pro at this game.

“Thank you, Ms. Marshall. I promise I will make it worth your while. 7 o’ clock at Bella Cucina.” He smirked and kissed the knuckles of my hand. Another fluttering of butterflies in my stomach.

The night hasn’t even ended but this man gave me butterflies thrice in a row.

God knows what type of zoo will I feel during our date.
